Bluey: The Videogame is an adventure, single, or multiplayer game developed by Artax Games and published by Outright Games on November 17, 2023.

I played on XBOX One through Game Pass so I will use borrowed photos throughout this post.

So Without further ado, let's get into this.

Gameplay

To start the game, we can play as any of the four main Heelers we follow in the show, Bluey: Bandit(Dad), Chili(Mom), Bingo(The youngest), & Bluey, our main character.

After we choose our characters, we can explore, solve puzzles, and play mini-games based on episodes that have already aired of the show.

We begin the game exploring the Heeler house, and as we progress, we can explore more areas like the Playground, Creek, and the beach.

To progress, we must find stickers to fill our sticker book, complete Dad’s map, and find his treasure.

Story + Personal Thoughts

The Bluey episodes referenced are Holidays, Rescue, Chattermax, and Treasure.

The game is simple and great for the whole family; the controls are smooth, and the art, while jarring, looks similar to the show.

However, the Heelers A.I. is (and I’m so sorry to say this because my family and I love this show) embarrassingly stupid.

For example, while playing Keepy Uppy in the opening episode, Bingo stands right in front of the stroller we’re meant to move, making it almost impossible to progress until I figured out you can still pull it, just even snowier with her in the way.

Conclusion

All in all, I’m being much nicer to this game mainly because I played the game for much cheaper and because I love this show.

But I’m going to be honest: this game is NOT worth the total asking price and also not worth playing.

Your family would benefit more from buying Bluey toys and playing that way or watching the show.

Hopefully, there will be another attempt at a Bluey game at some point with more direct involvement from the show’s creators, but we will see.
